16. Task Forces

Establishment of Task Force on Research and Development recommended by Long-Range Planning Committee. [1/8/93, p. 3]

Research and Development considering developing and publishing a directory of regional repositories. A list of criteria for judging projects is also being developed. [10/29/93, p. 3]

Task Force on R & D is researching existing lists for repository guide, and discussing working with Society of Georgia Archivists on making Provenance a regional publication. [1/21/94, p. 4]

The Board discussed forming a task force to investigate the circumstances under which State Archivists serve. [5/5/95, p. 1]

Creation of a task force on future directions for NEA was suggested. It would suggest new initiatives, structural changes and development of a five-year plan. [5/5/95, p. 4]

Charge and mission statement for the editorial board of the repository guide was presented by the R & D task force. The editorial committee will present a workplan and budget to the Board. [11/18/94, p. 3]

Margery Sly reported that the Task Force on the Regional Repository Guide will revisit the subject of an NEA-sponsored New England-wide guide in 7 or 8 months after monitoring the results of two projects being carried out by the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners and the state records coordinators (NHPRC). [10/25/96, p. 6]

The Board voted to accept the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Future Directions Task Force that the Board hold a separate meeting devoted to discussing the Task Force on Future Directions report prior to the February 1997 regular Board meeting. [10/25/96, p. 7]
