Anyone may join! New England Archivists membership is open to individuals and institutions upon payment of annual dues.

Membership Categories

  • Student: $17.50 (students must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at an institution of higher education-NEA reserves the right to audit your student membership status.)
  • Contingent: $25.00
  • Regular: $35.00
  • Institutional: $45.00

REMITTING PAYMENT

All individuals joining NEA or renewing their annual membership must sign up online and pay the appropriate board-approved membership fee by one of the methods below.


Online

Click the above “Join Online Now” button and fill in the membership form. You will then be prompted to pay securely online via PayPal. A PayPal account is not required for this transaction.

Mail-In

Click the above “Join Online Now” button and fill in the membership form.
If you choose not to pay online, you will receive a prompt to be invoiced. Please print out a copy of the invoice and mail it, with a check made payable to New England Archivists, to the current NEA Treasurer's mailing address.

In-person

Individuals have the opportunity to join NEA when registering in person at a meeting where the Registrar is present.


Renewing Your Membership


All NEA members will be prompted to renew their membership annually via the email address listed in their Membership Profile. To be considered a member in good standing, all individuals or institutions are expected to maintain a current Membership Profile and pay the appropriate board-approved annual membership dues by one of the methods below.

Don't have a Member Profile password or can’t remember what it is? Contact the NEA Registrar for assistance accessing your member account at registrar@newenglandarchivists.org.

NEA reserves the right to audit the academic affiliation of its student members.


Online
To renew online, please log in to your existing Member Profile (on the top right of any page) and click "View Profile" (also in the top right). First, please verify all that of your contact information is correct and make any needed updates. Once you have verified your information, click the "Renew" button under Membership Details. From there, you can pay for your renewal online securely using PayPal.

Mail-in
If you want to pay for your membership renewal via check, please log in to your existing Member Profile (on the top right of any page) and click "View Profile" (also in the top right). Please verify all that of your contact information is correct and make any needed updates.

Once you have verified your information you may send a check made payable to New England Archivists to the current NEA Treasurer's mailing address. Please include “membership renewal” on the memo line.

NEA maintains a members only list created to enable our membership to communicate with each other about items of common professional interest.

Membership Directory
Via our new member portal, all members logged in with valid credentials may access the full member directory and connect with colleagues throughout New England and beyond!

Mentoring 
Open to NEA members the mentoring program brings together small groups seeking mentoring with mentors who have varying levels of professional experience. Everyone involved is able to share experiences, challenges, information, and news of professional opportunities, while growing collectively as professionals.

Newsletter
The NEA newsletter is a quarterly newsletter containing regional archival news, notices of important accessions, scholarly articles, grant awards, professional opportunities, and much more.

Special membership rates at the Spring and Fall meetings as well as workshops throughout the year

Roundtable Membership
Roundtables provide an opportunity for members with related interests, positions, or career goals to discuss ideas and issues, to network and socialize, and to take on tasks related to their areas of interest. Roundtables are intended to provide a means of focusing attention on, and promoting discussion of, archives-related subjects outside of NEA's meetings and official activities.


Institutional members may designate a "primary contact" who has access to the following benefits on behalf of the institution

  • The primary contact is eligible to hold an elected or appointed position and may vote in annual elections.
  • Request subscription to NEA listserv, which enables our membership to communicate with each other about items of common professional interest.  

  • When logged in with valid credentials the primary contact may access the full member directory

  • Receive copies of the NEA newsletter is a quarterly digital newsletter containing regional archival news, notices of important accessions, scholarly articles, grant awards, professional opportunities, and much more.

  • Authorize one employee to register for the special membership rate at the Spring and Fall meetings as well as workshops throughout the year
