2007 Hale Award Recipient:
The 2007 Richard W.Hale Jr. Professional Development Award was presented to Susanne Belovari. Currently, Belovari is Archivist for Reference and Collections for Tufts University’s Digital Collections and Archives. She previously held the position of Archivist and Historian for the Holocaust Victims’ Information and Support Center at the Jewish Community of Vienna, Austria. Belovari will use the Hale award to help finance archival research at the Central Archives of the History of the Jewish People in Jerusalem. Her findings will be incorporated into an article she is working on for the journal Libraries and the Cultural Record.The subject of this article is the history of the Jewish Community of Vienna Archives and its archival practices since 1816. Belovari plans to share the results of her research at a future NEA meeting session, as well as in an article for the NEA Newsletter.
