Archivist at the Norman Rockwell Museum
Description:
The Norman Rockwell Museum has an immediate opening for a qualified, full-time archivist to process and manage the Norman Rockwell Archives. Position is for one year. Possible extension.
Position Description:
Responsibilities include processing archival records, consolidating and standardizing extant finding aids, preparing series descriptions, initiating a conservation plan, and managing the archives database. The archivist will work with Museum staff to create appropriate collection and access policies as well as processing guidelines for the Archives./p>
Qualifications:
* MLS or MA in history or related subject area, plus archives management certificate and/or equivalent experience
* Minimum of three years of work in an archives setting
* Knowledge of MARC/EAD formats
* Experience of working within a museum setting and/or familiarity with museum management
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Knowledge of archival processing standards and procedures
* Knowledge of archives management technology and access systems
* Project management experience necessary
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
