Throughout the year NEA offers a variety of educational offerings, from the Spring and Fall Meetings to workshops and webinars. As a token of appreciation for participation, NEA provides honoraria and travel and lodging reimbursements to plenary speakers and workshop instructors[1].
NEA will offer a plenary speaker up to $750 as an honorarium and up to $250 to defray travel and lodging costs. Workshop instructors are offered $500 as an honorarium for a full-day workshop, $250 as an honorarium for a half-day workshop, and up to $175 to defray travel costs. Reimbursable travel and lodging expenses include hotel, car rentals, public transportation, airfare, parking, taxi/Uber/Lyft, tolls, and either gas or mileage at the IRS standard rate. NEA does not reimburse for meals or hotel incidentals. All receipts must be submitted to the Program Committee Chair or Treasurer promptly after the meeting or workshop in order to receive reimbursement.
Projected amounts requested for honoraria, travel, and lodging reimbursements are submitted as part of the meeting or annual budgets which are approved by executive board vote.
